The Irish ash that I used for this piece had an almost graphic quality. Each of the small panels at the top is like a framed calligraphy. The doors were constructed by saw cutting the ash into thick veneers, then, rather than attempting to book match the sections evenly , allowing the pattern to change from left to right in order to enhance the graphic effect.
